PROFESSIONAL TRAINING OF IVS FIREFIGHTERS

Traditionally, the Croatian Fire Association has been organizing an autumn expert meeting for firefighters for 14 years, with the fact that this year, for the first time, the meeting was held at the newly opened regional training center for operational firefighting forces in Vučevica, not far from Split. This year’s meeting was attended by 12 firefighters from the fire brigades of the INA Fire Services.

The previous autumn gatherings were focused on lectures and theoretical classes, while this year’s, using the training grounds created for that purpose in Vučevica, was focused on practical challenges, especially those related to interventions in incidents with dangerous substances, extinguishing fires on tankers and similar incidents. faced by firefighters. In addition to that, which is especially important in today’s era of increasing electrification, special attention was also focused on fire safety challenges in the construction and operation of solar power plants and battery storage of electricity.

Ivica Lovreković, commander of the INA Molva Fire Department, one of the colleagues who participated in the meeting, emphasized on this occasion that the expert meeting covered a wide range of topics from which a lot can be learned, and he added that, as in previous years, the importance of such gatherings and in the fact that one can directly, on a personal level, exchange experiences and opinions about tactics and performance in various types of interventions with colleagues from other units.
